Welcome to The Holy Books of Babalon, a collection of writings both received and inspired by the Scarlet Woman, as well as essays and magickal rituals dedicated to Our Lady.

This is part of an effort by The Scarlet Temple, a universal collective of those who have dedicated themselves to Her mysteries. All are welcome here.

We will be updating our collection periodically and would love to hear from those of you who have had dealings or contact with the Holy Whore in some manner. Writings such as those published here are often not shared with other devotees, simply through lack of resources or tools to make them more public. We would like to assist the servants of Our Lady in this endeavor. If you have something to share, please feel free to contact us.

The Sevenfold Litany to Babalon

SEVENFOLD LITANY TO BABALON

This ritual adoration of Our Lady Babalon was originally celebrated at the Chapel of Abominations in Portland, Oregon on April 3, 2023 e.v. as part of the annual observance of the Thelemic Holy Season. The following litanies were spoken in the Angelic tongue. For a complete Enochian/English script, see our Rituals page.

I

AUGMN. AVE BABALON.

1. Thine is the glory.
2. Thou art crowned in the highest.
3. Thy palace is in the firmament of heaven.
4. AVE BABALON: Thou who art cursed with a garland of a thousand flowers. Make me thy servant.
5. Sing praises to the great BABALON; Dragoness, BABALON; abiding in thy kingdom.
6. Praise, praise, praise be to the Harlot: with thy song, the spirits come and unite with the sons of pleasure and before thee, they obey.
7. AUGMN. AVE BABALON: I am thy servant; I am thy worshiper in thine house in the East. You are Life; you are Death. You are the gathering of everyone; You are the gathering of your servants; You are the gathering of your chosen ones into the drunken glory of your mysteries, giving the harvest of secret wisdom.
AVE BABALON: Beauty and Sorrow, Brightness of the Flame that lives forever.

1. All-powerful art Thou in thy glory.
2. Open thy kingdoms unto him, thy worshiper, Nemo. 
3. Honor, glory, and treasure to him who rejoiceth at thy feet, giving his blood up unto thy cups.
4. Thy seat is in heaven, O glory of the heart.
5. Thine is the Ark of Knowledge. Thine is the Power. Thine is Praise forever, forever.
6. AVE BABALON: Who rides the Prince and Beast, and is called PAMPHES, Babalon astride the Beast.
7. Behold: Glorious is the Holy Infernal Mother who descends in ecstasy.

1. Thine is the Covenant of Resurrection: The promise of wonders to all men.
2. Thine Holy Ones shall be laid up in infinite rest; They shall burn as living lamps of the fire of dissolution. 
3. Praise and Glory, Oh Wormwood Star: thou art Babalon, one who resides in the skies, the circle of stars.
4. AUMGN. Death-Dragon, BABALON: Harken to me, for I am a Master Magician, a Guardian of the Children of Light.
5. Slimy things made of dust shall become as the Fruit of Heaven; as for the beasts of the field, they shall grow strong and arise, clothed with God, with thy vestures, and become men.
6. AVE BABALON: self-begotten Lord Ruler of Earth and the firmament of waters: Light of the Pillars of Gladness in Heaven, with beams of moonlight, and the sacrificial fire of thy God-wrath.
7. Thine is the Babe of the Abyss who remains forever praising the Lord of Hosts, Dark Star of the Seas, fervently, with humility, and is called Nemo, who is Not.

1. I begin anew Holy Speech of Thine inspiration. 
2. With beautiful praises as of diamonds of holiness for Thy pleasure I come unto you.
3. I surrender all unto you: the five and the six: the pentagram and hexagram: as was spoken by the Magus.
4. I am mingled in the Coagula of Inmost God; I execute the Mystic Marriage; I burn in Thine Infinite Mercy.
5. Thrice times the glory of God’s creation is the philosophical Mercury begotten of the Crucible. 
6. I am the Babe of the Abyss: I am one star in the company of stars: I am the Magickal Child of the soul of humanity.
7. Glory, glory, glory, and glory unto you, Earth-Lord, bringing fear of Death, enthroned in the circle of stars.

1. I am called before Thee, a Master Magician, with angelic power.
2. From your highest vessels descends the wine of thine ecstasy.
3. And I harken to the orbit of the Zodiac in admiration of the ever-living one, forever.
4. Thy mysteries are veiled with a hundred millennia in darkness; thy worshiper is as the sun, with the brightness of a thousand flames of glory.
5. Thou art the glory of None; Thou are the glory of all, and thine is holiness always, as was, is, and shall be, Oh! Infernal Mother of Earth.
6. She has planted flowers for Her servants to water.
7. Her worshiper abideth until the end.

1. The Harlot of Iniquities: The self-begotten Daughter of Light: FADRA with the horns of Death.
2. Giving fear of justice in the mind, the servants of Babalon descend with the wings of eagles.
3. In the eyes of the Holy Ones of Her is beauty of the glory of God’s creation on Earth and in Heaven.
4. AVE BABALON: Babalon astride the Beast: Thy palace is of marble. You unite the six and the five. You unite the five and the four: the eight and one in eight. Thy will be done, Thy will be done: and Baphomet triumphs, for to banish the fear of death in the heart of Nemo.
5. Thy worshiper prays in virginal holiness: for why? Because he is Not: Prince and Beast: Nemo.
6. LA TEA LA TEA LA LEA: The Daughter of Light comes to me in the kingdom of Abaddon.
7. PRADYTKA, PRADYCHKA: unite in the Lord Ataelael. The servant Ansudohe is bound in song of praise: Angelic praises, of hyacinth and moonlight, of a hundred thousand flowers of sin, according to the Law of Light.

1. Only the seed is given and planted; only the Fruit of Heaven is harvested.
2. Babalon astride the Beast destroys the destroyer.
3. Earthquakes and thundering before Thee and Thy power.
4. The eyes open to the expanse of the circle of stars; faeries of starlight surround the Holy Ones of Her, the Holy of Holies, to our comfort.
5. Twelve houses over the Earth obey Thee, and sing praises night and day.
6. In the end and in the beginning: Thy Will be done, BABALON. Here, Here, Here: Thou, Lord of the Ecstasy of the stooping starlight.
7. Let there be light in the darkness, to the rejoicing under You and the Pillars of Gladness.
